Wines by Alexander, a Quebec wine agency, is proud to present Yarra Yering.
One of the top wineries of Australia, Yarra Yering was founded in the 1960s by Dr. Bailey Carrodus, and is located in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, around one hour outside of Melbourne. The current winemaker is Sarah Crowe who is incredibly naturally gifted. She was named Australia’s winemaker of the year in 2017. Yarra Yering produces wines of distinction, elegance, persistence and mind-blowing aromatics. For me, what stands out on all the Yarra Yering wines are those wonderful aromatics. You could just sit with a glass all day, swirling and enjoying endless aromas and spices. They release their wines at about six years of age. This is a perfect time at which the oak and fruit have started to properly integrate, and if aged correctly, these wines will easily last 25+ years. Yarra Yering produces a range of wines from Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet and Chardonnay. This range is due to climate, soil and the incredible winemaker, Sarah Crowe. Their two most famous wines are the Dry Red Wine No. 1 (Cabernet based) and Dry Red Wine No. 2 (Shiraz based). However, their Chardonnay is also well worth seeking out.
